  • Begin with definite article, the.
    the cat
    the hat
    the apple
    the book

    Have students draw the picture first then label their drawings. Use student boards as individual response cards by allowing students to hold up and explain their work. Great for language/word development.

    Keep track of Phrase Bank words used.

  • Then, introduce indefinite articles, a & an.
    a cat
    a dog
    an elephant
